The course explores the relationship between design practice and contemporary society and encourages design-led critique of the present. The Design Innovation curriculum is built upon the field of service design and UX design, but the Citizenship programme asks design practitioners to step beyond their traditional professional and occupation roles and to consider the broader application of design practices, as a means of formulating and articulating social change.

I am a freelancer design researcher with a focus on civic and public life. I have a macro and strategic approach, unquenchable curiosity and a desire to understand how societies, cultures, economic systems and technology interact and influence each other. I am not afraid of stepping beyond my traditional professional and occupation role and considering the broader application of design practices in order to meet the needs of my projects.
